During the 7th edition of the International Fashion Festival in Lomé, Fimo228, seven designers of the Vlisco Fashion Fund network were invited by Fimo-founder Jacques Logoh to showcase their collections.

The previous Nigerian winner of the Vlisco Fashion Fund 2018 Paramole Omotayo, owner and lead creative designer at TESMI, participated in African Fashion Week London (AFWL) on August 9th, 2019.

The summer of 2019 marked an exciting new beginning for the Nigerian winner of the Vlisco Fashion Fund 2018, Paramole Omotayo. The owner and lead creative designer at TESMI opened a new fashion studio in Lagos, Nigeria on August 24th, 2019.

Last month, our 21 finalists were hard at work designing and developing their concepts. Now these talented artists are ready to show their designs! Discover their original creations here.

This past September, one of the 2018 Vlisco Fashion Fund winners, Francel Guezodje of ‘by Francel’, returned to Amsterdam from Benin to design and create garments for the Q4 Vlisco campaign.

Three previous Vlisco Fashion Fund winners – Francel Guezodje, Nina Lavoe and Paramole Omotayo – were head designers and assistants for Vlisco’s Q3 campaign, shot in Togo.

Around 100 candidates recently sat through interviews and sewing tests for a place in the 2019 Vlisco Fashion Fund contest. The top three candidates for each country who have been offered a place in the competition will be proudly announced by Vlisco today.

By September 30, the Fashion Fund Team had received almost 700 submissions from fashion creatives based in Africa and many other places around the world. It was quite achallenge to choose from so many talented designers, each witha story and heaps of ambition.

During the last week in November, the Global Jury reviewed the creations of the 21 finalists and reached its decision on which seven contestants would be crowned winners of the Vlisco Fashion Fund 2018.

This week the Global Jury visits The Netherlands to review the results of the 21 finalists of this year’s Fashion Fund contest. We are delighted to have Bubu, Oliver and Velma involved in the very important process of selecting the 7 winners of this year’s Fashion Fund.

By September 30, the Fashion Fund Team had received over 600 portfolios from fashion creatives based in Africa and many other places around the world. It was an enormous challenge to choose from so many great designers. The candidates who presented the most remarkable designs in the most interesting ways and who showed the most potential were invited for interview.
