Fashion Fund 2018 Ivory Coast
The Finalists
AMARA ABDOUL AZIZ KONÉ
Chameleon
Woman’s capacity to change, adapt and adjust to her environment is celebrated in Amara’s collection, Chameleon. This ability to adjust without too much difficulty is within the nature woman: she has known how to thrive in diverse environments for a long time. Female sensitivity and consciousness of emotion make her brave, ambitious, beautiful, ferocious and dynamic.
GUILLAINE KOUAME
Le Petit Monde de Guillaine: A mix of art and elegance
Guillaine wanted to create a collection of outfits fit for a parade. In Le Petit Monde de Guillaine, she has created garments that are elegant, sensational and strong, yet out of the ordinary. Her collection shows that art, fashion and elegance can be worn beautifully. Guillaine incorporated theatrical details into each of her outfits, such as artificial flowers, paper, feathers and lace.
WAHOUIE TEA JUDICAEL
The Queen: A collection that makes you strong and unique
“A woman is love, glory and hope; to the children she guides, to the comforted man. She lifts the heart and calms suffering, like a spirit of heaven on the exiled land, ” says Gerard de Nerval. This is what Wahouie would like to demonstrate through our creation ‘THE QUEEN’. Indeed, ‘THE QUEEN’ is a collection that pays homage to women in general and in particular, to the woman of Africa. Whether in the public eye or anonymous, the black woman is one who remains a source of inspiration to us. Long aggrieved, marginalised and left behind, we reinvent her through this collection. The collection highlights a woman who is what we consider a ‘Workingirl’. In other words, a ‘boss’, a handyman, a woman, assigned to ‘male trades’ to prove herself in order to earn the honour and respect of those around her.
