Fashion Inspiration by House of Marie and Reedas

To launch the first collection of 2018, VIP customers were specially invited to the Vlisco boutiques in Lagos and Abuja to be the first to see and shop the fabrics of their choice. They also got the opportunity to see the new collection interpreted into elegant outfits designed by House of Marie for the Lagos boutique and Reedas for the Abuja boutique.

According to the Creative Director of House of Marie, Joan Ibuzo; who was represented at the event by one of her designers, Uche Uba; the inspiration behind the 6 contemporary but classy looks was the Lagos fashionista, who loves to look sophisticated and trendy – irrespective of the occasion.

In Abuja, Rukkayah Muhammed, the Creative Director of Reedas; showcased six looks as well. Reedas put the lifestyle of the African women in Abuja into consideration when designing for the special occasion. She combined her signature handwriting ‘plaid fabric’ with a modest but very fashionable style – creating six looks that avoid calling undue attention but show a good taste for fashion. As evident in the looks she created, the exceptional colour and fabric mix left all in admiration.
