Vlisco Fashion Fund winners present Vlisco’s Q3 Brand Campaign, shot in Togo

Three previous Vlisco Fashion Fund winners – Francel Guezodje, Nina Lavoe and Paramole Omotayo – were head designers and assistants for Vlisco’s Q3 campaign, shot in Togo. For the first time, we looked within our growing network of VFF winners to create looks for The Original Wax campaign. Original Wax features intricate pattern designs showcasing familiar West African goods like cashew, okra, spinach, kola and roselle, available in various colours.

Vlisco’s Q3 Brand Campaign

Each of the three designers created multiple looks, with their designs being influenced by the detail and flow of the fabrics. They feature bold cut-outs, creative layering and beautiful craftsmanship. The designs seem to draw inspiration from the fabrics themselves, with the patterns guiding designers towards their creative and skilled tailoring. Guezodje, Lavoe and Omotayo have demonstrated their many abilities and paved their way for future work with Vlisco and our network.

After winning Vlisco Fashion Fund, the VFF platform aims to continue to support up-and-coming designers in their fashion careers. We intend to keep looking within our own growing network for talent when needed, for fabric and fashion campaigns.

The Vlisco Fashion Fund is an annual contest that helps support emerging designers and tailors with career success, with an emphasis on fashion brand development in Central and West Africa. Each year, winners receive funding to invest in their businesses and are awarded with professional workshops. The winners may even progress on to collaborate with Vlisco, or others within our network.
