This is what Wahouie would like to demonstrate through our creation ‘THE QUEEN’. Indeed, ‘THE QUEEN’ is a collection that pays homage to women in general and in particular, to the woman of Africa. Whether in the public eye or anonymous, the black woman is one who remains a source of inspiration to us. Long aggrieved, marginalised and left behind, we reinvent her through this collection. The collection highlights a woman who is what we consider a ‘Workingirl’. In other words, a ‘boss’, a handyman, a woman, assigned to ‘male trades’ to prove herself in order to earn the honour and respect of those around her.
