Vlisco&co launches in Ghana and Nigeria

In Vlisco’s design archives there are over 25,000 designs that relate to the rich history of African prints. These archives are still every day a shrine for Vlisco designers. But Vlisco looks for inspiration from tomorrow as well as from yesterday.

This month, Vlisco launched the Vlisco&co initiative in Accra and Lagos. Vlisco&co is a cultural evening that brings together young local creative talents who interpret their own vision of Vlisco designs.

Vlisco has asked African designers, artists and creative talent to join Vlisco&co and explore the future of African print. How will tradition merge with modernity? How will the old be improved by the new? How can African design inspiration continue to play its role in creating the future?

In Accra, Vlisco hosted the event together with Nsimba Valene at Untamed EmpireE and collaborated with House of Paòn, Ushie and Kelvin Vincent. The edition in Lagos was hosted together with A White Space Creative Agency at Alara, and showed works by Tokyo James, Karo Akpokiere, Daniel Obasi, Abiola Olusola, Terna Iwar and Aye!.

We look forward to more inspiring editions of Vlisco&co in the future. Because only together, we are Vlisco.
